Passenger Door Window Switch Not Working

My pasenger side window won t work from the passenger side door module.

Open door drops down doesn t go back up on close lower top drops but doesn t go back up. Otherwise the passenger window will go up and down smooth just no auto up. But the passenger side failing first is unusual. This is on a 2001 dodge dakota sport club cab.

Auto up from passenger door does not work auto up from drivers side for the passenger side does not work to me implies it s not the passenger side switch. It is acting as if it is locked out from the driver side door module because the led s are not illuminated however it is not locked out. Power window motors only have two wires. Hi there this issue generally comes up often when we see a power window that does not work on the passenger switch but still works with the driver s master switch.

It means that the passenger side window switch has failed. I ve also done continuity testing of both the ddm and passenger side door module. The fact that the drivers switch operates the window properly lets you know that the window components all function properly as that the problem is probably electrical. Normally a bad relay or blown fuse is the cause of this problem.

When passenger windows don t work but the driver s window does chances are high that you ve got a bad master switch in the driver s door or a broken wire in the driver s door hinge area. Usually i replace the whole thing when this happens.
