Making the wall clock.
Paul selles wall clock.
This was once performed traditionally using a special plane called a panel raising plane.
By paul sellers 2 december 2012.
These rails receive the raised panel and line up with the grooves in the side pieces.
Making the wall clock 5 by paul sellers 16 december 2012 with the main body of the clock superstructure completed we can now form the raised panel and fit it to the grooves.
The wall clock is made from pine and i chose this because it enables you to locate your wood easily from almost any store or lumberyard and it works especially well with hand tools.
The grooves therefore remain 3 8 wide and are cut to the same 5 16 depth.
These grooves are situated exactly in the centre of the rails and so the fence is set at 1 4 from either face of the rails.
In episode 1 paul sellers gives a brief overview of clock series and shows sketches of the project.
